What happens on January 1st?

From January 1st, 2022, all new QLD rentals & lease extensions must have photovoltaic smoke alarms hardwired with a battery backup. 9 volt battery models are no longer suitable.

New smoke alarm systems must also be interconnected, meaning if one goes off, they ALL go off.

So, if you have an old smoke alarm system, you'll want to organise your free quote ASAP. There are less than 2 months before the new laws come into effect.

Why QEC?

Not all electricians are trained or knowledgeable enough to install smoke alarms that meet the new regulations (it's a lengthy document with provisions for different situations and types of home).

We've been following the new regulations since the first phase came into effect in 2017, and now the second phase is coming into effect this January.

Our clients enjoy peace of mind knowing their job will be completed to the highest standard and can pass ANY outside inspection.

We service Gold Coast and surrounding areas.

Last minute bookings are filling up fast! Request your free quote now to avoid missing the deadline.
